"# Choose less complicated flowers. Certain flowers will run up of the cost of your floral budget no matter what season. Ask your florist to review your options with you.

- Flowers that tend to be expensive: Lily of the Valley, Calla Lily, Orchids, Magnolias, Peonies, Gardenia and Hydrangea

- Flowers that tend to be moderately priced: Orange Blossoms, Lavender, Daffodil, Daisies, Chrysanthemum, Carnations, Roses (due to huge variance in kind, quality, and color) and Greenery – such as ivy"

  1. No single flower is going to make or break your bouquet price.  Get what you want.  Gardenias smell strong and lovely.  Just get 2 or 3 if you want them.

Also, you can float a gardenia alone in a bowl for a centerpeice...and roses will need some greens, so it's a wash, really.

  2. Absolutely - I have to sell gardenias at $5 per bloom and Roses are only $1 per stem. Dendrobium orchids and hydrangea are not too bad. Hydrangeas are higher priced, but take up a lot more room in a centerpiece or bouquet. You can always make wedding flowers a lot cheaper on yourself by buying them in bulk and doing them yourself. I customize packages and ship instruction & supply kits.
