I have a little budgie, and I know that they're highly sensitive to scents..and I have a gas stove, and sometimes I can smell the gas before the fire lights. I was wondering if it's harmful to them?

  1. It is, but he should be fine if you keep him in a closed room away from the stove.  My birds are in my room, literally across the house from our stove, and we close the door whenever it or the oven is being used.

  2. The burner won't hurt your bird, but the fumes from an overheated Teflon pan can kill it. Never keep a bird in the kitchen.

  3. not unless you keep the bird next to the stove-....which is a horrible idea anyhow. keep the bird somewhere else.

  4. Not unless you keep the bird close to the stove. You won't gas em'. It's not advisable to keep them in the kitchen on your shoulder when you cook. It's tempting, but they spook, and can land in the frying pan. I know that sounds funny but it's true. Then you have real problems.
