Question:

Are gas heaters safe to use in the bathroom?

I have a few gas heaters around the house, just in case the heatpumps don't cut it, or if the power ever fails.

I remember reading in the manual of my gas heaters that they should not be used in the bathroom.

Why is that?

What could possibly happen?

  1. gas heaters produce carbon monoxide which is a poisonous gas. if these are used in a confined space with zero ventilation, it is not a good idea. Buy a big fat furry cat

  2. In case of a gas leak, enclosed bathroom will be very dangerous.

  3. possibly the moisture would prevent an electronic ignitor to work, or may extinguish a pilot light.
