With oil going above $117.00 a barrel and gas heading up to $4.00 or higher a gallon, Does it really pay to drive to work every day?. When it cost 30 to 40% of your check each week just to fill up your tank!. What help can you expect from your goverment in this fuel crises?. Bush says he will fix everything! (YEA RIGHT).

  1. Yeh, I think I am going to get a motorcycle

  2. well i don't have a car yet, but i just think about how expensive it will b in like two years when i do

  3. Nope, I live 15 mins from work, and I ride a CBR1100XX when I don't drive one of the cars, so it ends up costing me much less than most people

  4. Nope.  I commute by bicycle so I really have no sympathy for drivers.  Sorry.

I live 8 miles from work.  I chose to live "close-in" when purchasing my home for this very reason.  I get to work faster than public transportation and about 5 minutes slower than it would take to drive.

Best shape of my life and I'm also saving insurance, gym membership, obeisety related health-costs and of course gasoline.

It seems so silly to purchase a liquid you can't even drink.  Instead I can buy and drink all the beer I want without worrying about expanding my gut.

I'm so glad I don't have to worry about this stuff... my main concern when it comes to vehicles is that the one's on the road don't kill me.

It's a whole different world - I wish more of you could experience this.

I'll be enjoying a cold one while you're sitting in the gas line.  If you ditch your car and join me - I'll buy you one!

  5. Maybe you should trade in your car on a more efficient model.  I was thinking about getting a motorcycle.

  6. well i think that we need to find an alternative method of fuel because we are using up all the oil and we can drive cars with other things, but what about planes, and space shuttles can you fly those on water?  we should be saving all the oil for planes and space travel so that we can have more time to research alternative methods for those.

  7. if we all cut back as much as we can on extra trips for awhile, the consumption would be less and the prices would have to fall.....but still to get to work the distance remains the same...

  8. bush better do something and fast.. this is outrageous.

  9. don't look to the bush white house for any help with high oil prices,  did you forget he was an oil man before he was president?  he even ran his oil company in to the ground , just like he's done to our country,

  10. Bush needs to pull his head out of his a** and pay for his gas bill just a few times and see what it is like outside the White House for once.  No offense to those who work on minimum wage or anything, but, for those who do, they make about an average $60 per day or less and if they have to drive to work, it cost $40 just to fill up their tank, don't you think that is just a little scary?

  11. sucks big time, and by labor day weekend, i dont even want to pull up at the pump....maybe i should buy one of those scooter.

  12. The government can't fix this one, and we can't blame everything on Bush.  He never said he would "fix everything".

I commute 35 miles each way to work.  Fortunately, I drive a compact car, which gets good mileage.  I use a Sunoco MasterCard, which gives me a 4% rebate on Sunoco gas.  I also get mileage reimbursement for business travel.  Gas prices hurt, but I always try to find ways to ease the pain.

  13. pay check.. arm ...leg.. and firstborn

  14. there really is nothing we can do about it. its kinda sad but unless your really rich and can afford a hybrid your screwed. people like me that got there credit screwed up are really screwed just because i cant get a hybrid car so i just have to suffer. they way they talk its going to get worse this summer. it sucks the feeling of hopelessness and i never thought i would feel that in the usa but i guess i was wrong.
