Are gas stations open on holidays?

My family was planning on going on a trip on christmas day, but we are not sure if gas stations are open on that day. Can we use the credit card to pay for the gas, or will that be closed too?

It depends.....

My wife manages a gas station.  They closed early on Christmas Eve, opened late and close early on Christmas Day.  But the station two doors down is completely closed both days....

As someone who's worked holidays in a convenience store, most all of them (especially those with gas) will be open.
