It could be argued there is no point teaching these subjects I myself think if you can draw you can if you can't you never will.

And anyway these subjects serve no purpose how does a pretty drawing help anyone the only useful subjects are subjects souch as mathematics physics and geography ect

for only these subject can make any real difference to our future world hence i think only these subjects sould be in the school curriculum

  1. Learning the skills isn't a waste of time because they make you a more rounded human being and some people DO use them in their careers BUT the GCSEs certainly are a total and utter waste of time. Sadly the school system we have is totally addicted to testing so if there isn't a bit of paper at the end it won't get taught at all.

  2. no!!! it depends what you want to do in the future. i did art gcse because i LOVE art. then i did art Alevel. now im doing an art degree. then im goint to teach ART or become an ART therapist. get my point????? everyone can draw. the more you practice, the better your hand to eye co-ordination is. even blind people can draw ffs. who is to judge whether someone can or can't draw just because it's good or not good in their eyes? it's opinion. art is a useful tool with getting people to be creative and not narrow minded (like you), it helps relieve stress (proven fact) and it helps council people. especially young kids who find it hard to explain things with words and people with mental illness. you're looking at this very simply. art can be used in many different ways, including advertisement for issues in our world. there is alot of money to be made with art music and drama incase you hadnt noticed and there is ALOT more i could say on the matter but what's the point when im saying it to someone as narrow minded as you?

  3. Some people need to specialise in these areas. Others need them as a break from the rest of their heavier subjects. All education is worthwhile, though I certainly think some things can be read about rather than tried. I'd rather my kids didn't know about drugs from personal experience! You seem to be saying that culture is a waste of time. That's a bit silly, isn't it!

  4. Actually i disapprove with what you said coz not all people can be good at these other subjects but when they have a talent like art or music which could be developed with the help of these subjects being included in curriculum.  In other words all i am trying to say is that they are not a waste of time...at least not for all

  5. Well you need art in game design degrees, graphic design, some architecture courses etc so it is not pointless. And all the pictures from the school textbooks such as geography are done by artists. Anyway i do geography for gcse and i do think it is handy. Music is not that handy ,though it is fun. Though the least usefull subject in my opinion is history. As for what you said if you can't draw you can't draw ,i have to disagree ,even if you are not naturally talented, you can still improve in ART. anyway hope this helps.
