Question:

Are ghosts our dead? or an alt-universe?

I'm a paranormal researcher. I'm not religious, so I have a hard time when people say ghosts are our dead. How do they know this? I know that paranormal ghosts are suppose to be energy. Most researchers agree on this. But from a science point of view I know you can not create or destroy energy (in theory). So if ghosts are our dead, wouldn't they use up all the energy so that new life couldn't use said energy?

To me it would seem that if we have proven mathematically there are 28 alt-universes that we could be just seeing them. That the vale between them are so thin that we see them as our ghosts and in turn we are their ghosts.

  1. Whether or not ghosts are our dead or visitors from an alternate universe, your reasoning is flawed. First, I am a retired physicist, scientist and engineer. I agree that souls, ghosts, spirits, the supernatural. are energy, not matter. But I fail to see how you jumped to the conclusion that the supernatural would suck up all the energy in the universe. Souls, ghosts, the remnant energy that remains when our bodies die, is finite, never increasing or decreasing. Each soul is unique and unchanging.

If the veil between  universes were so tenuous that the transfer of energy was even possible, exchanges would take place routinely and would be easily quantifiable. No such evidence exists. No data has been recorded, only experiments that test those theories, and thus far no massive energy exchanges have been evidenced.

  2. I'm Christian and i believe in ghosts. I have had many experiences! For example i have seen an orb with my own f*cking eyes! I agree that ghosts are some kind of energy but i'm a little bit confused...

  3. If you are interested in a detailed explanation of your question, visit World ITC online. It is a very informative website about ITC, EVP and various methods of trans-communications.

Quantum physics supports the existance of a 2nd non-material world "directly parrallel to our own"

so- to say there is no research in science or no proof is ridiculous!!!!!

obviously, one needs to look a little deeper.....

There are several levels to the afterlife- but I digress.....

'Ghosts' are really just people who are dead. We each have a 'soul'composed of energy ( we have already stated that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, it can merely change form)

so, when we die- our organic earthly bodies are diregarded ( like an old car that doesnt work any longer) and our soul carries on its development as it needs to.

When ppl die, then refuse to go to the Light, they become trapped and are referred to as Earthbounds, or ghosts. They can refuse the light for many reasons, but fear is a big reason- they fear God will be angry with them for thier sins -

also sometimes they love or hate someone or something so much they refuse to leave it- and instead get caught between worlds and end up stuck.

the point being- our own soul is composed of this energy- which as science has proven cannot be created nor destroyed, so there is no possible way  'use up all the energy' as you put it. There is alot more to researching paranormal phenomenon than meets the eye.

    hope that helps.

  4. I tend to believe that "ghosts" are really demons.  Obviously, I am religious :D  I think that they can change forms and trick us into thinking they are our long lost loved ones.  But you're right-- people don't "know" what ghosts are.  You really can't prove it.  I like the alternative universe theory... That's really interesting.

  5. i am a christian but in  the morman relgion they say ghost is the devil trying to pretend to be our dead. BUT  out of  personal experiences i have noticed family. My favorite one was when my 3 yr old cousin went sraight to a corner and said its okay charlie its me abigail you can come out and play. What was creepy is that my grandfather died way before she was born. His name was Charlie. Also later she pointed to a picture of him and said Charlie.

  6. I think shadow people are from an alter universe and somehow they show up in our universe. I've seen one in my living room, at night with the lights out. Weird!

  7. This is a false dichotomy.  You left out at least one other possible explanation for ghost sightings.

  8. I see where you're coming from. I don't think you could develop a method to prove or disprove something like that.  I read a couple years ago about physicist Max Tegmark wrote a book about alternative universes or multiverse, but they were isolated from each other. Because of that isolation you couldn't have direct observation of them. If Mr. Tegmark is correct then your theory of interactive between them could not be correct.

There are many universe theories are out there, many are very accepted. Like measurements of the cosmic background radiation indicate that the space we live in is infinite and that matter is spread randomly throughout it. Therefore, all possible arrangements of matter must exist out there somewhere—including exact and inexact replicas of our own world and the beings in it. The idea is a bit like that of monkeys in front of typewriters eventually typing out all of Shakespeare: Quantum theory says that nature is discrete, so the visible universe we inhabit is characterized by a finite amount of information; if space is infinite, this informational pattern is bound to repeat at vast enough distances. A back-of-the-envelope calculation shows that there should be an exact copy of you around 10 to the 10 to the 28th light-years away.

So if Mr. Tegmark is wrong and we could observe (sometimes causally interacting with it) then it could be possible that what we see as ghosts or spirits can be something from a different universe and be an exact copy of us therefor having the same death dates and life experiences as someone who died here. Or the energy it takes to produce a ghost of our dead just comes from a random part of the universe.

I think this type of theory is beyond the average amateur theorist to develop, but fun to explore.

  9. The fact you, a 'paranormal researcher' asked the question [and the variety of opinion in the answers] demonstrates thoroughly how little is known about the phenomenon we call ghosts, and about the paranormal in general.

The behavior of metaphysical energy, entities, and the whole range of other issues related to the paranormal haven't left the birth-canal yet insofar as a 'scientific' approach.

  10. they are an alt-universe

  11. The Bible (God's Word) says it is appointed unto man once to die, then the judgement.

  12. Well heres what i believe:

I am a Paranormal Investigator i do believe in paranormal activity and believe there are spirits here many things have happened in my life that i cannot explain and have seen spirits of different types in different locations. I will continue this day forward like i have been doing , to continuously help those in need of paranormal guidance just like alot of people in this paranormal field are here to help one another :) but i still stand the same i believe in paranormal occurrences and ghosts/spirits. When Spirits are through with their business in this world i believe they cross over. i also believe when you pass on you have free will to travel back and fourth at will! but yet some spirits are sometimes decide to stay because of unfinished business etc. or they are comfortable here. So i think they are the spirits of ones who were here thats what i have to say , i've heard of the alt-universe theories :) but i have more faith in the spirits are here and were people before. Though i believe in alt-universe theories with some other things though!

  13. What we are finding (Scottish Paranormal Uk group) is that there are different phenomenon occuring at a particular location - that may not be related to the same energy.

Sometimes appiritions are seen - which are very distinctively from a time period. Similarly sensitives pick up on mini-clips or residual hauntings (as I do) that are definately of a past event in that location and can often be verified as correct by research.

For others like EVP it could easily be - as you say  a different dimension calling, and the shadow people that are commonly reported most likely fit this theory - like they're not all here.

We are just waking up to the concept that our bodies emit an electrical charge or aura, and that certain good or bad entities can lock onto these. This poses the question that this aura can be seen in another dimension. It also follows that we may see other peoples aura's in ours.

This "charged field" may exite ions in the air and cause smoke or mist ghosts that seem to just dssapear - which fits our criteria rather well.

Another Problem we can't fathom is mysterious dissapearances - objects apperating in thin air or instantaneously dissapearing.

Two possible routes to this - 1. they are hidden in this plane - but out of sight.

    2. they are removed completely to another plane.

I have only known #1 - keys taken from a pocket, but appeared in an unopened box of washing powder. This would appear impossible if they floated about, but credible via wormhole theory.

Interesting research.... (saw a funeral coach from the 1800's last week!)

  14. I believe that they are both.  That we are them and they are us.  I am a believer in reincarnation, so in my book they are not using up the available energy, they are reusing it and with each experience the nature of the energy changes just a little bit.  I think your theory is very interesting though, and I would love to discuss it sometime.

    Blessed be

  15. neither... ghosts are our descendants that have managed to travel back in time, by moving faster than the speed of light, breaking time/space. But their presence in our time-space is incorporeal and is only expressed with available energy and perceived only slightly in our personal projections. so we don't see them as they are in the future, instead we see them as our mental projections of the past. or present.

  16. Honestly, I know nothing about alternate universes, and I am not going to even attempt to argue for or against that, because I have not reviewed the research involved.

However, Ive been looking for any case where there is anything other than pure conjecture that a ghost they are investigating is a dead person.

Honestly, I believe the concept of ghosts being dead people is cultural, and I really dont see the logic in it. When people investigate a haunted house, the first thing they do is try to figure out who died there that is haunting it.

I wont contemplate what ghosts are in this post, but ive been saying for awhile now, they arent dead people.
