  1. Yes, but there are Regulations, only a certain color of lips sticks can be worn in uniform, the lenght o fyour nails can only be a certain lenght, your nail polish acna only be a certain color, limitations are put on how many and what type of earrings you can wear while in uniform, the eye shadow cannot be spaztic, ther ere regs on that as well, some women tried ot get away with hair extentions and did, but the way their beray fit imporperly on their head, made them look hestarical. You cannot chnage your hair color to certain colors, like once I had wash away hair color, and it matched my red barey, thanks goodness, it washed put in a few days, no one could tell where my hair started and my beray ended.

  2. After recruit training they can wear make up in uniform as long as it is with the services regulations which is typically not too much and must resent a neat/military appearance.  Off duty in civilian clothes doesn't really matter.  Recruit training is typically no except for specific occasions when it would be authorized.

  3. They can but it must meet military and command guidelines.  Generally, the makeup must be subtle and tastefully done..no heave eyeliner or mascara, compliment skin tones, no extremely bright or strong colors (so no bright blue eyeshadow or extremely red lipstick).  Some career fields may have restrictions for other reasons and it can change from command to command.

  4. I don't believe so.

  5. AR 670-1 provides the guidelines for the wear of cosmetics while in uniform.

Basically...we can't wear anything that doesn't complement our uniform or skin tone.  No outrageous colors like pink, green, black, or neon colors so just stick to neutral colors until you're off duty.  Fingernail polish...same...I've even been told that I can't get a French manicure because it's faddish.  American manicure I can get away with because it looks more "natural."  How...I don't know...

ALSO, while in ACUs, we are not authorized to wear earrings like other services.  If you dye your hair, it must be a natural color.  If you have brown hair and you try dying it blonde but it comes out yellow, you'll get bashed on by your supervisors because "yellow" is not a natural color...blonde is a natural color.  Also, be weary of highlights.  you want to make things look as natural as possible so...no blonde on black or red on blonde.

  6. Make up is allowed for females in the army after basic training and AIT, how ever it must have a natural appearance (no blue eye shadow, black lip stick, etc.) Nail polish is also allowed, but it must compliment your natural skin tone, so no blue, purple, green, gold, white, black...etc. Basically the authorized nail polish colors include shades of pink, peach, and brown, or of course clear. Males are not allowed to wear any cosmetics of any kind for any reason.

  8. Yes you can wear it but it's suppose to compliment your skin tone.  So no purple or blue lipstick.
