  1. Contacts prescriptions are different than glasses because contacts are worn directly on the eye. They need different measurements for contacts to get not only the right size, but also the right prescription. The way my eye doctor explained it to me once is that she adds .25 power to my glasses prescription. When I look at both prescriptions, I see that it is true. How can you get contacts without a prescription? I've always needed a prescription and it's only valid for one year. Even 1800contacts won't refill for me if the one year deadline is up. But, once you get your prescription, you can order as many pairs as you want during that one year, to last you a while. To save money, I get scripts for both glasses and contacts when I make my eye doctor visit. I hope this helps you to understand why there is a difference. Good luck!

  2. No. With contact prescriptions, they measure your eye and curve and stuff. With glasses, they just measure the stength that you need. And with astigmatic glasses, they also measure the bump on your eye.

  3. no  because they take different measurements.......

my glasses are a -10 prescription but my contacts are -9.50.....

they need to get the shape of your eye right for contacts
