  1. Absolutely not. And I would let them know in no uncertain terms not to to it again.

It's a choking hazard even in older babies and toddlers.

  2. Not good for that age.  They can be a choking hazard.  It is your baby tell them you don't want him eating grapes yet.  Good luck.

  3. A four month old could choke on a grape.  I would tell them that they can't do that again, and if they did anyway, then I wouldn't let them see the baby alone.

  4. Nooooooooooooooooooooooo, it on the doctors no no list until age of 3.

  5. I think as long as you are holding the grape while he is sucking on it, then it should be fine.  Not a good idea to just pop a grape in a 4 month olds mouth as he will most likely choke on it.  If you don't feel comfortable doing it then don't and tell her as well.  Also you should have an okay from your doctor before giving your baby any solid food, typically you shouldn't until about 6 months.

  6. My daughter is 11 months old and my doctor said no grapes!  They can choke.  Don't let your mother-in-law watch her anymore... I don't care if you have fights with your husbad about it.  It's YOUR baby and you are ultimately responsible for him.  You really want to get a phone call that your baby is in the ER because he choked on a grape and you could have prevented it from happening?

  7. Aside from the fact that whole grapes are a choking hazard, she shouldn't be giving your baby any foods that haven't been okayed by you.

Four months old is too young to be introducing solids.

  8. can your baby sit up on their own? they should not have any form of solid food until able to do this.  if so, make sure the grape is at least cut in half...a whole grape is opening yourself up to a choking hazard

  9. your baby could get chocked on grape or any small thing like that a baby so small should be having only milk and nothing more than milk coz till the baby is 6 months , they do not need any thing else besides milk

  10. No, no, no, no, no.  Serious choking hazard!  The only way I'd let my 4 month old have a grape was if it was mashed up (like almost liquified) in a blender.  I know there are those mesh things that people put fruit in them and then freeze it and then let the child suck and chomp on that, but I'd only do that with soft fruit (bananas, peaches, etc).  I'd watch your son closely when he's there!!

  11. The skin should be peeled away, babies can get the skin stuck in their throats... (adults have choked on grapes too)... stick to baby food for a few more months!

  12. Absolutely not okay.  A four month old baby does not need solids yet.  If you dont think its okay, it probably isnt.  If you question it, it probably isnt.  Tell your sister-in-law that your baby isnt ready for solid foods yet.

  13. yeah i wouldn't let a baby eat grapes tell her its ur son and u dint want him eating grapes! my cuzns in laws r the same way telling her not to wry so much about her son getting hurt but its ur baby so tell em to back off

  14. In my opinion (and in everything I have read for years) you do not give a grape to a  four month old baby. He could choke on it and die. Even when held, grapes could be suck into his throat and also the grapes do have little seeds. At your baby's next doctor checkup, get the opinion of your doctor!

I am a mother of five with grandchildren.

  15. im 17 an i still choke somtimes

  16. Deffinately not.

not that long ago, it was in the paper that a two year old girl choked and died eating one.

My little brother is two and my mum wont let him eat them either,

    So I'd be very careful.

thats the story of the girl who died from eating a grape.

    I hope this helps.

  17. No solid of any kind at 4 months, as simple as that. They can start at at least 6 months.

Don't listen to any tale tell stories your relatives might say. Use you instinct. If you feel funny about it, most likely it's not okay.
