I heard this, but I don't remember where. Is it true? My kitty is begging for some of my grapes but I won't give any to her because I'm afraid!

  1. I know they are for dogs, so I am sure they are for cats too!!  Dont give her any!!

  2. Definitely do NOT give your kitty any grapes!  Ingesting grapes and raisins can cause kidney damage to cats and dogs.

  3. I dont think so. Or maybe so since they cant eat chocolate.

  4. Holly,

Raisins are toxic to both cats and dogs, so logically grapes are toxic to them also.

"Grapes & Raisins: Though it isn't clear to scientists just what makes grapes and raisins toxic to both cats and dogs, even a relatively small amount can damage the kidneys. For this reason it's unwise to feed these to your pet, even if small amounts are tolerated. Also avoid giving bits of cookie or other foods that contain raisins."

Good for you for asking the question before you give into your kitty's wishes. You are being a good cat mom!
