Are hamburgers healthy?

Are hamburgers done on the Bar B Que, the meat is extra lean, with onions, peppers. With a hamburger bun with just ketchup. Water to drink and fruit and veggies for dessert

  2. Yeah as long as you have fruits and vegetables with hamburger and not just hamburger.  Also its good you have a lean cut of beef because you don't want all that fat.

    yes it is fine, a well rounded meal and some exercise to work it off is fine.

    The health nut:

    Really, you shouldn't even be eating meat. The stuff it does to your body is really amazing. Look at the source for what i'm talking about. Veggie burgers (i like the ones make out of Portobello mushrooms) are the way to go for those.

  6. Ahahahaha! a hamburger is a hamburger it's still bad for you. If you want to eat lean just replace the hamburger meat with turkey.

    "Healthy" in relation to the food we eat means that the food contains nutrition.

    What you're describing, compared to a fast food hamburger, is more healthy.

    If you use organic, range fed beef, that is even more healthy because the cattle themselves were healthier.

    The quality of the ingredients in the bun make it more or less healthy too, a whole grain bun with no preservatives is healthier than one that's full of processed flour and sugar.

    So "healthy" is a relative thing - compared to fast food, yeah, your BBQ burger is healthy :)

  9. You're eating high on the food chain and beef processing is extremley polluting but it sounds healthy.

  10. Yes those are a lot healthier than the ones you can eat at any fast food restaurant if that's what you're asking..

    Because you know what you are cooking them with and you can add healthy toppings to it..

Ditch the BBQ sauce (too much sodium or sugars) and go with a wheat type of bun.  As long as you eat it during the day not at night your good.  For any crazies out there saying it's beef it's bad...if it's 96% lean or better it's as lean if not leaner then turkey ground.  Beef has a bunch of iron and a more complete protien than chicken or turkey though of course you shouldn't eat it all the time.

  14. If  you use ground turkey, its fine.  Beef, even extra lean, is not the most healthy......
