Are hamsters actually happy with their lives?

Question

I know this may sound ridiculous.. But I think about my hamster and how crappy of a life it must be being confined to a cage with a wheel as the only source of entertainment at night. I do take him out to play with him but I still feel bad.. I feel like I should be doing something to make his short life better but there isn't really anything to do other than take him out everyday for a little while. Any suggestions?

Buy him some toys, if you don't have a hamster ball get one. They LOVE them. Put a toilet paper roll(without toilet paper on it) in his cage, they will crawl through it like a little tunnel. It is hilarious! And hamsters love them. You could attach more tubes to your cage, which is always a favorite. Hamsters do have feelings just like humans and every other living creature.

well make sure you treat him/her with care and

treat ur hamster not like a pet but more like a family member or a close friend

later you might be able to tell if his/her life is okay or not
