Are hamsters good pets?

I wanted a guinea pig, which I know is better than a hamster but should I just settle with a hamster since my mom refuses to have a guinea pig?

Yeah hamsters are lovely, although they are only little they have big personalitys and are really funny !

If you handle your hamster every night, they become attached to you :)

Hamsters are very easy to care for, and I suppose its better to have a hamster than no pet at all. Try researching Guinea Pigs on the internet and show your mum that you know how to care for them. Also, tell her that she won't have to do anything!

And finally, save up money to buy the actual animal your self. I'm trying to convince my parents to get me some rabbits, and I have saved up enough money to buy two.

I had hamsters when I was young.. I got bitten often - and they keep you awake a night..

personally i like bunnies best.. but read the links to see which is better for YOU..

also NEVER NEVER get from a pet store - check your local shelter FIRST - you will get friendlier animals from a shelter.. and not help the store support cruel mass breeding!
