The pension guarantee credit is a good thing but If you have an excellent work record and been thrifty and have modest lifetime savings the means testing will not add rent costs and council tax in my case those two are £4000 per year to the Pension guarantee, However if you have a poor or no work record or if you have boozed or gambled your cash away no problem the the four thousand extra is certainly for you. Is it fair

  1. Yes

At times the ( working poor ) try hard to sustain themselves and a lot of times put themselves just high enough in income that they don't qualify for any medical help if they have an emergency.

But, Someone that will not even look for a job gets about the same in government aid as the poor family works hard for and on top of that gets government medical assistance. NOT FAIR!

  2. Life is generally unfair.

  3. If your question is legit,  you know the answer is yes.  The rich get tax breaks while the poor working single mom has to pay high taxes.  Something is wrong with the system.

  4. Jdog, I agree.....They punish the working man...

  5. Yes they are. It's not fair that you have to pay tax on pensions either, just because you worked hard and so get a bit more pension. This government seems dedicated to giving everything to unmarried Mothers, immigrants and the work shy. It's certainly not worth saving anything, you just get penalised at the end of the day.

  6. I think you are finally getting it, (if you hadn't already), that a Socialistic-based program that rewards poverty over work kills all incentives to work.

It is becoming harder and harder for people across the world to refrain from giving in to this "what's the use of working hard?" mentality, because of these unfair regulations.

Socialists are counting on them to just give up trying.

About the only thing hard workers have left is their pride! Hopefully, for the sake of us all, that is enough to keep them hard-working.
