Generally not. Small group plans with fewer than 10 employees are usually individually underwritten and the premium is set by the health  and ages of the applicants. This means someone age 60 on the plan would pay less but someone age 20 would pay more. However, the only way to know would be to get quotes. Visit a local agent that works with all the major companies in your area. The agent can run quotes for the group policy as well as for the individual policies. There is no extra charge using an agent.

NO.  Most of the time it's about twice the cost.  There are exceptions, but one thing for sure is group insurance is a ton more forms and administration.  Most of my companies I deal with that have less than 10 employees do individual policies because they are cheaper.
