How long it took for you to go home (your country) and you could come back freely? please, no rude answers, im not going anywhere if you tell me so, so save it...

  1. You are normally allowed no more than 12 consecutive months to stay out of the country to still keep your residency , (Green Card). If you plan to stay longer for another year there is a form you have to complete at the US Embassy in the country you are residing to extend your stay.  Absence of 6 months or more will however affect your calculation in residency when you want to naturilize.
