Are hermet crabs good pets?

they look cool but are they good pets to they need alot of care??

Yea they're pretty cool but i warn you they can get boring after a while!

Things You'll Need:

1.A Tiny Sponge

2.2 Ft. Small Fish Tank

3.Sand or Soft Small Rocks (I Used A Mixture Of Sand And Soft Rocks)

4.A Piece Of Wood ( Get Ths From A Pet Store )

5.Lots Of Shells : 1 HC. = 2 Shells, 2 HC. = 4 Shells, 3 Hc. = 6 Shells, Etc.

6.Food, Treats, Water.

7.( I Cleaned The Tank Once A Week)

yea but u need to buy a lot of shells because when they grow the changes shells you should have a fish tank some small gravel a medium sized sea sponge (get it wet and thats what the will drink of of also change it every day or 2 so just rinse it out and fill it up again) you need food pellets and some driftwood for them to hide under or crawl on they are relatively low maintenance

I actually just got hermit crabs and they are very easy to care for. You only have to clean their cage about once a month, they don't eat a lot of food, (they're actually scavengers so they'll eat anything like food scraps, but I recommend regular hermit crab food) and you only have to change their water about every three days. ( I put their sponge in a little bowl of water.)  For their cage, all you need to do is, put a food bowl in, a water bowl with a sponge, sand for a substrate, (the following is optional) put in a couple shells that the hermit crab can go into. You should really put in the shells because most of the time, when you get a hermit crab, their shell is uncomfortable, and they want to change shells. If you put in more than 5, he'll probably take his time and try out every shell. Good Luck!
