Are high-end 720p/1080i tv's better than the low-end 1080p tv's?

I have a budget of about 1300. Should I get a really nice 720p/1080i flat panel or a cheaper low-end 1080p panel?

Depends, you want a good picture or a good tv? also 1080p wont be noticed by the human eye unless its like a 42 inch or higher.

Also high picture quality means bunk if your tuner or some other part burns out on you.
