Is there really a big difference from the 100 dollar HDMI cables at best buy compared to the 25 dollar cables at WAL-MART?

  1. Any HDMI Cable is worth the money, but the high end cables are not worth the extra 100 dollars

  2. NO, they are not any different. they are digital, so they dont make any difference. instead of paying 25 at walmart, get some cheap 3 dollar ones on monoprice.com. i got mine from there, and it works great.

  3. Usually not in a normal environment. The high end cables are for noise suppression. Most areas don't need this type of cable.

  4. I have an HD TV and yes they make a world of difference

    Monster cables are the best

  5. No!  In fact, I thought the $25 cables were the high end ones!  I've never paid more than $7 for an HDMI cable and would challenge anyone to tell the difference between one of them and any other.

  6. We got some of the mid-range $50 ones and are perfectly happy with them. I wouldn't get the $100 ones. They may be better, but it just depends on how picky you are.

  7. NO, there is no difference at all, it's a cable, don't get sucked in to the big name expensive cables thinking that they will do more then a no name one.  Don't get suckered in to life time warranty for a d**n cable beause chances are you will hook it up one to your TV from DVD player and will never move it again unless you have to move or something.

this site: http://www.monoprice.com/products/search... is all you need for HDMI, don't even pay the $25 at Wal-Mart, what they have there is the exact same, because they are all cables.  My brother worked at Best Buy and told me that they bring in the cables for $10 and sell them for $80, cables are where they make the most money. That is why so after you get your 'deal' from the salesman they try to make the real money from you, by kindly reminding you that you need an HDMI cable, power bar, and of course the Best Buy 5 year warranty (one more cash grab)

You don't have to buy from monoprice, its where I got mine and am very happy, but don't get suckered in to buying an expensive HDMI when they are all the same.

  8. If you have the highest quality HDTV, the highest quality Blu-Ray DVD player and the highest quality DVDs, you will probably want the high-end HDMI cable. With anything less you won't notice the difference. Maybe not even then unless you are a very critical viewer.

  9. I bought one off ebay same quality for 9.99, stay away from gold plated they are not worth it

  10. Nope. The difference is barely noticeable. There's practically no signal-loss when it comes to digital signals.
