Are home prices still going down in the Twin Cities - (Minnesota)?

I am want to sell my home soon, but I wonder if the prices are going up or down right now. A real estate agent says they are still going down but I think he might just want me to sell to make more money. I want to get it in top condition before selling, but he says that is mostly a waste of money.

The best direction I can point you to get an answer is to a Saturday afternoon local radio show on KTLK FM (100.3) between 3-5pm. You could even call into the program!  (See links---and read the text of the 3rd link.)

And after reading your question, I would get a 2nd opinion from another real estate broker....

Prices are low and will stay low for a while, but I would do everything possible (on a shoestring budget) to spruce the place up. One of the best things to do is get rid of the clutter. A fresh coat of paint in a "new" color is always a good way to get some attention.

Listen to that real estate show--or even call in!

If it is possible, you could always rent out the place until the market recovers a bit.
