  1. BullShit artistes

  2. Don't romanticize homelessness - it's really pretty horrible.

And, no, they're not - homeless people spend all of their time just trying to find enough food to eat and a warm place to sleep.

They don't have time for philosophy.

  3. how can they be philosophers? most of them are mentally ill. You are probably a homeless writing from a public library.

  4. Yes... and butchers and bakers and candlestick makers...

  5. no....but they are a good way to teach kids not to mess up too bad.

  6. not all but maybe 5 % might be homeless.

  7. I don't believe we need to complicate an already serious issue: the homeless are simply those without homes. There doesn't have to be a reason. Bad timing, mental illness, no money -- the list goes on into infinity.

Philosophers are the philosophers of our culture. It still exists. Philosophy means "love of wisdom," and I am sure that monsieur is well-aware of his own love of wisdom.

  8. Homeless are philosophers. They are full of wisdom and they know things. Because of their unfortunate situation they must tap into that survival mode that all of us have in us but never seem to need in our cushy lives. With a full fridge, a way to clean our clothes and bodies the ability to answer questions to people thousands of miles away and a warm bed to curl up in after its all said and done They are wise about things that we would never think about and they know more about human nature then any 1000 dollar an hour shrink. Don't let them fool you, they are more on the ball and deeper then anything that you have ever seen in your life. They live in a war zone every day of their lives and survive. Something I don't honestly think I would have the ability to do. God bless them all.

  9. What is your logic behind that?

  10. Most homeless are mentally ill and addicted to one thing or another...

No one would choose to live out in the cold and smell like s**+... t.

Maybe they're philosophers if they have some sort of philosophy behind being a drunk but I really don't think they want to be in the position that they're in.

  11. I don't agree with these guys!! My 'logic' would be because they're living some sort of abandonment, and uhm, some sort of solitude, and solitary confinement socially almost.. that they would be more "philosophical" than a normal person in society just because they are watching other people really live. EVERYONE HAS TIME TO THINK ABOUT THINGS. Just because the majority of homeless people could be drunkards doesn't mean they aren't their own philosophers, I mean, in general people who have never had anything, are more grateful for anything they get, and they find meaning to everything. People who live in villages and hardly get food, or people who are homeless, or in war, Or in Uganda,  Darfur.. know more about life than I would say most people do, simply because the real occurances and situations they've had bring them to reflect..real life..I mean, I can't really explain it but i would ask this too
