Just curious to know what is most popular among homeschooling families when it comes to politics. Every homeschooling family should be registered voters. You have a very important reason to be...to protect your interests! Remember that its lawmakers that hold the key to your success in homeschooling. Everyone that can should be an activist fighting for our freedom to worship and live as we see fit. Many want to take that away from us.

To the homeschoolers that think living "the simple life"...enjoying it...remember...in Washington...as well as around the world....its money that means power for the most part. If we want to protect our interests...we DO need power and influence. (think about it...its the big dog that always steps on the others) What can we do to enrich our power in this country? (money is not the only thing of course...but when it comes to who wins out...mostly the one holding all the cards) What are you doing to fight for this right to homeschool and freedom to teach?

  1. Homeschoolers come from all walks of life, ALL political affiliations (there are more than two in the US, BTW), all family styles, all religious and non-religious backgrounds... etc.

Political affiliation (and the same must be said of regligious affiliation) has no bearing on homeschooling as a whole, because homeschooling is a part of the education choice issue and that, my friend, is what folks should focus on: that our governments (US and worldwide) maintain our right to choose the educational method that best fits our family lifestyles, not which method is right or wrong based on a politician's platform.

    My 2cents...

    :o)

  2. I'm a libertarian.

  3. republicans

  4. People who choose to homeschool are not primarily of one political affiliation or another.  Keep in mind that we have more than just the two parties as well.  Many people also do not choose to homeschool to live "the simple life."

I am not sure what your question is here, mainly because I am so caught up in the preaching attitude you are using under the ruse of a question.

  5. Why does it matter? Why does voting come down to democrats or republicans in terms of homeschooling? I'm really curious why you are curious about political affiliations when the rest of the question is just about voting. In fact, homeschoolers in general vote more proportionately in comparison to the general population, regardless of political affiliation

Dr. Brian D. Ray of the National Home Education Research Institute found

    quote

Only 4.2% of the homeschool graduates surveyed consider politics and government too complicated to understand, compared to 35% of U.S. adults. The study found much greater political involvement of adults who were homeschooled. 76% of homeschool graduates surveyed between the ages of 18-24 voted within the last five years, compared to only 29% of the relevant U.S. population. The numbers of homeschool graduates who vote are even greater in the older age brackets, with voting levels not falling below 95%, compared to a high of 53% for the corresponding U.S. populace.

  6. I'm Canadian. We don't usually align ourselves the way Americans tend to do to one particular party. Each election is a chance to look at what the parties are trying to do, what their representatives are like, etc.

That said, in terms of American politics, I'd likely vote Democrat.

  7. What? I didn't get any of that.

But...I'm homeschooled. And I know alot of homeschoolers.

And they're both. Idk which one there is more of.

    But I'm republican.

  8. Neither, but the stereotype is republican
