Question:

Are hooves really "insensitive" ?

Can the undersides of the feet of hoofed animals "feel" anything? People seem to think they're not sensitive to touch, but how is this possible? Feet are there for a reason...

So, are hooves sensitive to touch? Can they be "ticklish", like a paw of a dog or a foot of a human can? If they can feel the ground under them, then can't they can feel sensations that we (and "softer footed" animals) take for granted?

  1. Animals hooves are not like our hands or feet, they are more like bone, they have no nervous system, and if they did it would be a pain to walk >.<

  2. They do still feel pain, that is why horses have to wear horseshoes.
