Are horses as stupid as people say they are?

How stupid do people say they are?  Mine have been known to wait for the electricity to pulse to leave the pen.  Have used various tricks to open not only their pen but that of another pony and burro so they could go walking together.  They choose the most unusual items to steal and run with, horse humor.  So frustrating, annoying, and heck'a funny, yes...Stupid never even comes into the equation.

Probably smarter than a lot of humans but probably not as smart as dolphins and the apes. Answer your question?. Sorry ! I'm not a animal behavioural expert type person..

Horses are NOT stupid- at least not all of them, and not all of the time. You need to be careful about asking a question like this- it's majorly offensive to those of us who have spent most of our lives working with, around , and owning horses. The horses which are competing in the Olympics certainly aren't stupid- they are highly prized athletes. Race horses aren't stupid either. True, some horses can ACT stupidly at times, but then so do most people I know. Just because someone or something ACTS stupid, DOESN'T mean they ARE stupid. Stupid is as stupid does.
