  1. tell you what - these racehorses get treated like kings - i swear, they have better lives than 99% of humans.

and yes they can do it well!

  2. no, its not just for humans to enjoy, the horses enjoy running and jumping too, its what they do in the wild, in herds. they have just been domesticated, and trained to be ridden. when a jockey falls off, they carry on running and jumping the fences because its natural to them, and they enjoy it.

  3. horses are born and not built...

they are 'built' to be bet on...

  4. there are all different breeds of horses like dogs, thoroughbread horses are racing horses and they need plenty of excecise eg running, racing

  5. Only 13 out of the 40 horses which raced in the Grand National today completed the race successfully. That's 32.5% according to my computer's calculator. If horses were built to jump fences, all of them would complete jumping races successfully.

  6. Some horses are better jumpers than others. Some are built better for jumping.

  7. horses are actually bred origanally for work ing and transportation they have been groomed to race and jump.

  8. horses are not machines they are living things they are born first of all and horses was BORN to be free. For jumping it is just for human pleasure.

P.S horses are also not only for racing racehorses don't have such a good life cause if they hurt themselves there owners will kill them cause they are "no good". And Horses are not born to be bet on either.

  9. Thoroughbreds (racehorses) are bred to race.  The breed has been developed over the last 300 or so years to be faster and faster.  The fact is that the Thoroughbred bred would not exist without the racing industry as they are an unnatural breed that was originally developed by breeding arabian stallions to native British mares.

Horses love to jump.  As many people have pointed out you only need to watch a horse at liberty in his field, or even the loose horses during a race, to see how much they love to run and jump.

If you wanted to be picky, you could say that horses are not perfectly designed:  their front legs bear all the weight when landing after a jump but they are also the weakest point of their body.  However, this applies to every breed of horse, not just the Thoroughbred.

  10. Horses jumping fences doesn't have much to do with humans, necessarily. My year old filly jumped a 4' fence and electric line on top - she cleared the water trough, too - just because she wanted the grass in the other pasture.

She didn't care if anyone was watching.

  11. Well is betting on horses going to the dogs.
