Are hotels in Italy very strict to get guest details?

I am planning to meet a nos. of friends of mine in my room. Might end up into a ...... Do they have hotel security checking every guest movements in the hotel?

By the law in order to control and prevent mafia and terrorism all the people overnighting in hotel,hostels,camping sites,other...,must be registred by the reception and identified by the exhibition of a valid id document (identity card,passport,staying permit...).The reception sends the file of the presences to the local police office daily.

In order to prevent prostitution it is illegaly in Italy to let rooms hourly.Rooms are intended to be let from 12 to 12 or 10 to 10.

Access to the rooms is allowed only for registred guests in number equal to the maximum allowed for that room.

It means :

1).if you take a single room you are NOT allowed to introduce anyone.

2).if you take a double room - payed as double - you can introduce a person a day (12-12 or 10-10) but this visitor must be registred by the reception (passport or other id).

3).if you take a triple-room - payed as triple - you can introduce 2 persons a day (12-12 or 10-10) but these visitors must be registred by the reception (passport or other id).

4).a.s.o.

In other words you are not allowed - in case you take a double, a triple,... room - to receive somebody from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. and later a different person from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and still later to overnight with another person.

In spite of this regimented situation, some hotels trespass the law and give rooms hourly - normaly used by prostitutes or lovers - or hidden the hourly service as day-hotel (a hotel where travellers go during the day just to relax,using the toilet,take a shower waiting for the next train or flight) for 2 or 3 hours.
