Are humans the only living things that commit suicide willingly?

Sometimes animals that are very weak or like "almost dead" will just lie down and not eat anything. Sometimes animals won't eat. But they know better. We humans have the complexsity to actually choose life or death.

Suicide can't be unwillingly,you can force someone into killing them selves,but then its not suicide . I believe that may be 2nd degree murder,possibly .

No, whales and dolphins in the wild will sometimes beach themselves on purpose- even though it means certain death.

Also, I worked at a crappy foreign themepark as a diver and there was one dolphin that repeatedly threw itself out of thepool and down a set of metal stairs because it was so depressed and crazy from being in a pool too small with handlers that didn't really care about animals. It was just awful.

yes, we are the only ones with complex enough brains to be that crazy or depressed to consciously make such a decision.

I would have to say yes but no.  I believe when that moment comes to do away with oneself they  are driven by a demon spirit to end their life, a person has weakness & they are so weak they will let the "bad" overcome them when it would be so much easier to call out for "God".  Humans give up too easily instead of fighting for eternal life.

I know lemmings will jump off a cliff if there population gets too large, some say that is a form of suicide. You may want to research that further.
