Are hyundai accents good cars?

I'm looking into buying a used 1999 model. Do they have good reputations?

  3. They're not BAD cars, but a nine year old Hyundai is nearing the end of it's lifespan -- soon.

  5. We havent had any problems with ours.

    Its a 2001 model, just over 100,000km on the clock and its going strong.

    I would advise you to change the timing belt when the factory advises, and also do the tensioners and oil seals. Its a fairly small job but it needs to be done.

    Also, we found that ours is a little sluggish if we use a some fuels, so I recommed using good quality fuel in them.

    I change the oil every 5,000k's and recommend you do the same, as gunky oil hurts them. We also change spark plugs and lead (wires) every 6 months. Probably too much, but its a low cost and its better than having them break down.

    We're really happy with ours.
