Are ideas such as "Collectivism" and "Individualism" taught in schools?

well i go to a private school and i am taking AP Euor History and they tell you what it is and who they involve etc. etc but it's not like taught as a value

I think they should be taught. I feel so uneducated when it comes to things like this. My US History taught me some general stuff about this, but I think I deserve a more in-depth look into these concepts. I'm 15, so I think I still have time.

but i'm only a sophomore.. no AP classes for me yet.
