A routine traffic stop ended Tuesday with an illegal immigrant behind bars in Glenn County facing multiple drug and weapons charges.

Brazzi stopped Pedro Alcala, 28, on County Road P, south of Orland for vehicle code violations. Alcala told Brazzi he did not have a driver’s license and was instructed to exit his vehicle.

According to sheriff’s logs, Alcala pulled a loaded stainless steel Colt .25 pistol from his pants waistband and tossed it on the seat before getting out of his car. Alcala was then handcuffed and searched for other weapons.

Sheriff’s Lt. Rich Warren said Alcala did not point the weapon at the deputy.

During the vehicle search, Brazzi recovered another handgun, a .22 caliber revolver, and 15.1 grams of methamphetamine. Warren’s field tests confirmed the substance as meth.

  1. OF course, that's part of their "better life" they came to here to have. They are also allowed to drive drunk, steal, rape, kill, and anything else they choose to do with very little or no consequences while an American gets 20 to life for coughing on the wrong side of the street **sarcasm**. Then if an illegal does happen to get in trouble he or she just yells racist and the charges gets dropped.

  2. No they can not.

Tell the S.O. to tack on an 18 USC 922 charge.

  3. fk no ! what part of illegal do you not understand.......

  4. Once upon a time, there was a day when this individual would have seen plenty of prison time, followed by deportation and banned from re entering the US.... and if that wasnt enough to deterr them from returning.... more prison when caught.  Maybe our prisons provide far too much the better life so many say they seek!

  5. The bleeding hearts have changed things in America so the criminals (legal or illegal) can do as they please, while the law abiding citizens is restricted and confined to live within the laws.

  6. Absolutely not.  For a person to be allowed to carry a weapon he/she must obtain a license for such and the weapon must be properly registered.  Appropriate identification must be presented as well. It would be almost impossible for an illegal immigrant to fulfill these requirements.

  7. Do you really assume, illegals would ask anyone for permission to ccarry a weapon. There must be some error in thinking.

  8. Illegal aliens are prohibited by federal law from possessing any firearms and in general, even legal non-immigrant aliens are forbidden to possess any firearms or ammunition. But there is an exception for a legal alien who is in possession of a hunting license or permit lawfully issued in the United States

See: Title 18, USC Chapter 44, Section 922, part (y)(2)

Green-card holders and immigrant aliens who do not yet have their green card are both okay under federal law, although many people (including gun dealers, law enforcement officers, etc.) are not aware of the distinction or the hunting license exception, and erroneously think that either you have a green card, or you can't have guns.

Also, non-citizen cannot purchase a firearm from a federally licensed firerams dealer unless they have been a resident of their state for 90 days. So, no, tourists on short visits cannot walk into guns stores to pick up some "protection" during their trip.

Some states do however issue firearms licenses to legal aliens residing in that state. In Washington I know it used to be possible for an alien to obtain a concealed weapons permit provided the said alien already had an alien’s firearms license issued by the state. The state's Department of Licensing recently stopped issuing firearms licenses to aliens due to some federal law that prohibits law enforcement agencies from sharing the results of federal background checks with non-law enforcement government agencies.

  9. hmmm. doesn't say wether he had a permit or not. in order to have a permit you have to have a background check. there is alot of americans running around the streets of america without permits cause they can't get one.

  10. Not legally but do you think it happens?

  11. Whats next?

[sarcasm] While we're at it lets make Americas national language Spanish, and lets give them the right to vote! [/sarcasm]
