Are illegals really abusing the healthcare system?

I have seen tons of questions out here regarding the issue about illegals destroying ER's and getting benefits that US citizens cant get.... Really?

Well i have in the past and today made the claim that if that were true, wouldnt everyone have an incentive to claim to be an illegal immigrant? can you see the logic here?

I know thats true and i also know people dont do it (claim to be illegal immigrants) so what exactly is going on here? where are this claims comming from saying that illegals are better of than US Citizens?

Please serious answers, any data you have relating illegals either pro or againts its most likely wrong.

illegals are not eligible for health care, but they are eligible for emergency health care. And yes they abuse it. It should be used for life threatening issues, but they use it for any illness. The problems is they give false information when checking in or are unable to pay their bill. I live in Tucson and there was an article in our daily paper concerning UMC. The hospital has an illegal patient that has severe brain damage and they are trying to find his family in Mexico. The papers he had on him were either stolen or his family lied about him being related.  The hospital stated that they will spend between $5-6 million on health care for illegals and will get between $1-2 million back from the feds. And anyone can go to an emergency room for services, by law, even without ins. And in a way they are better off, they are not gona be turned into collection agencys and receive threatening letters.
