Are insects more abundant in lower altitudes?

i live in arizona( in the desert) and seems there are bugs everywhere. however, when i lived in colorado there were less.

It is easier to breathe at lower altitudes.  insects have a greater affinity for warmer climates as well.  At sea level the atmospheric pressure is 760 which makes it really easy to breath.  The pressure gradient is always from high to low pressure.  Inside our lungs is -4 to the atmospheric pressure which makes it easier for air to enter the lungs.  The higher in altitude requires more work to breath because the pressure becomes less than inside the lungs.  For in insect it is even harder because of how little they breath and how sensitive they are to pressure.
