Better? debatable - HDMI is certainly easier because video and audio are combined in a single "rope"... but the video image should be the same. With component you need to run the stereo audio cable separately...

If you have a1080p HDTV then HDMI is best, otherwise it doesn't matter much more than which is more convenient for you.
