Are kids still using textbooks in school?

Are textbooks at school becoming less common because now everything can be stored on the computer. I guess I know some kids carry books. But aren't some schools increasingly doing away with books in place of weightless laptops? Seems like computers are the way to go in my opinion.

  1. All you have to do is find a way to pay for the computers and pay to maintain the computers.

Books are much cheaper and more dependable than computers.  That is why they will be around for a long time.  Some schools are experimenting with putting textbooks on laptops and handing them out to the kids.  However, many more schools have budget problems and cannot afford to pay teachers much less buy thousands of laptops.

  2. Of course. There's just classroom sets instead of your own textbooks. My school doesn't even have computers in most classes.

  3. my school still uses textbooks except for powerspoints and stuff

  4. my school uses texts books but we have online books for most subjects so we dont have to take them home for homework

  5. duh..

  6. Yea but if you forget your textbook at school or something, my school puts their textbooks online too. It doesnt have all the pages online though
