Are killer whales ever friendly to us humans whether in the wild or in captivity?

  1. ive been fascinated by these creatures since i was 4 years old, im 18 now

    all i can tell you is if you DO ever get the once in a lifetime opportunity to swim with orcas, keep your distance at first, wait until they come to you, especially if they are with their young. Killer whales are very protective of their offspring.

    Also take notice of the shape of the dorsal fin, a curved fin either means its a juvenile or a female, a straight, tall fin means its a male.

    So to sum that all up, yes and no. It depends on the situation.

    Orcas are not known to attack humans except if they feel harmed, like most animals


  2. Well, at least in captivity. There are trained ones at Sea World who do tricks.
