  1. Yes.  Any group that petitions the government for laws that would benefit them are special interests.  However well intentioned some of them may be they are still special interests.

    Every group, the NAACP, the NRA, Unions, Teachers, even the military are special interests.

    In fact, if you have an opinion you are supporting a special interest.

    The total BS some politicians spout about special interests is just c**p, telling voters they shouldn't have an opinion.

  5. A labor unions are much like the Mafia and frequently employ the same type of tactics.  They are VERY much special interest groups.
