Are lap-tops cheap in Australia like they are in the US?

No, Europe and the US are very cheap, however they are still a fair price. You can buy a pretty nice system for about $1000 here.

In Australia almost nothing is cheap. I bought my mp3 player from the US on eBay and got it for about 70 % of the Aus price. Laptops similar, all electronics. Hong Kong is cheap, and Singapore, a lot of Australians will do shopping for electronics in those countries if they visit.

Europe, not sure, may depend on which country, but I would think same or cheaper in Europe.
