  1. If you go to the market they all have stores behind the market and you can ask them to take you to their store and they will. Some stuff will have a note on them that say Pella with some other word that means real leather. Pella mean leather and the other word just depends on what they want to use like real. But I live in Italy and I've been to Florenence many times to get leather and I've never seen a fake at the market or the shops behind the market. Most people dont know this either you can baggin with them and they will come down in price. The stores are usually cheaper then the carts even if its the same store too. You can use credit at the store and not the carts. Don't buy them from just street people though make sure you are at the market its called the San Laranzo maket (spelling maybe off alittle) They are open everyday almost all day since its tourist season. Sundays are not as good to go because lots of people close for family and church. Hope this helps.

  2. I was in Florence many times during the late 1990s. I purchased a two leather jackets and all are genuine leather. I purchased them at a regular stores and not from vendors on the street.

  3. Your best bet is to ask around-the locals will know who the genuine sales people are in the neighborhood.
