  1. no

  2. yes

    but they're toys.

  3. no. People have been trying to invent them without very much luck

  4. No.

  5. The technology to create a real, working lightsaber doesn't exist yet. The effects in the original three movies (Episodes IV-VI) were done using a technique called "rotoscoping," where animators draw over frames of film to achieve the desired effect. In the prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III), the effects were achieved through computer animation.

However, there are lots of very realistic-looking replicas available. Here are three sites to check out:

Replicas of the hilts (these don't light up): http://www.classbrain.com/artmovies/publ...

    Replicas that light up: http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/warfar...

Build your own lightsaber prop: http://www.wilcoxusa.net/saber/

  6. They're as real as Santa Claus

  7. No, sorry.

Closest you'll get is a plastic light-up toy.  Better yet, play Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. Best game ever, and you can make your own saber in the color of your choice!

  8. haha i wish.

  9. as the others said b4 me - no. but just think off all the possiblities! w/ lightsabers around, u can kiss those whimpy laser pointers goodbye! handy jobs could get done, it'd make chopping lumber a breeze and no more naggy teachers! yeah!!

    (-^_^-)

  10. No they aren't. They can't stop the laser in mid air like they do in StarWars. If they were to create one it'd go on forever. Basically it'd be a strong laser pointer.
