I was wondering if they are considered royal or not. Most of my family were lords and ladies in France and i'm wondering what they were considered.

  1. Lord and Lady are peerage titles.A peer can be royal or non-royal,it depends on the situation of the family.

You would already know if you had royal ancestors already,so it sounds like your family members were non-royal aristocracy.Royal peers are designated HRH,The Duke-- or HRH,The Countess--.

  2. No - as these are "titled" positions.  Usually wealthy landowners who supported the King.

  3. Lords, Ladies and so on where considered ' nobles ' or ' nobility ', the rank below Royals.
