  1. Just a tip, when I first got into fishing and didn't know what a specific thing was,be it jig, popper, texas rig etc I checked out Google images.Or if you prefer Yahoo! images you'll find pictures there too.

  2. Lure plugs, I think you meant luhr the manufacturer huh? Yes Luhr makes a more than decent line of products mostly all geared for freshwater and for about ninety years specialists in bass now they are luhr/ jenson and do a ton of trout stuff as well. Plugs got there name because they were wood before the invent of plastic which has all but replaced the wood baits. If you have wood baits save them don't use them they are or will be worth more money than any fish you catch or more importnatly loose it to. Carnkbaits with large frontend spoon bills have gotten the plug (which was wood and only wanted to float)  to dive deeper and deeper and deeper the larger (longer and wider) the front bill the deeper it should dive. I have about 30 that my dad had all wood and worth a couple thousand. I won't throw them for anything, but do they work you bet they work.

  3. Plugs and crankbaits are the same thing, just depending on where you are they are given different names, yes is the answer they are, there is one brand that i really like and that's Rapala.

  4. All plugs are lures, but not all lures are not plugs.

Spoons, spinnerbaits, jigs, and flies are all lures too.

To answer the question of plugs being good for bass, yes they are excellent for bass, some better than others.

  5. yes

  6. Surface poppers, or Hula Poppers, do wonderfully. I pulled a 14 inch largemouth with an old-fashioned plug, the kind that is just a red and white cone shape with a bowl-shaped face. In my opinion, less bells and whistles do better. I forget who said it but it works: "I believe that most lures are more attractive to the fisherman than the fish."

  7. plugs and crankbaits are great for catching bass especially if you are trying to cover a lot of water.  you can reel them very very fast and they are still effective which is great when you are on a new lake and are trying to fighure out what the fish are doing and where they are
