Are magazines going to far telling how we are to look?

So many people these days, read trash mags ie closer, now etc. Which is ok, but these magazines are dedicating what people think they should look like. For example 1 magazine, had an article showing the 10 most skinny women in showbusiness and saying how appalling it is. Then a few pages along they had some ex-soap star claiming to have done a diet where you lose 6pounds in 7days. These magazines are going to far and are promoting crash dieting. These are just women like us and all have their bad days, but why should their ideas of whats perfect, put into print. Lets see more women, who feel good and confident about theirselves regardless if their a size 6 or a size 20 naturally. These women do exist, but we seem to have been pushed in the darkness. Also if there was more people like that shown by the media, maybe the next generation won't have as many eating disorders and dieting problems we have today.

  1. Yes the press, mags, and paps. are just going to far. i mean i know lots of friends who are anorexic just because they have a little bit of an ***. it shouldnt matter. everyone should be different. Its how we were made.

  2. most deffinetly! whenever i look at a teen magazine i suddenly feel fat! Its not a good feeling and i think magazines should stop! I feel that some magazines are causing people to become anorexic and stuff like that. just looking at some makes me want to skip some meals (but i dont) they are deffinetly going overboard!

  3. I works like this:

People read the so called new "standards of living" in magazines. They look like that in their imagination.

You take the littlest thing you could possibly do to look like that and that's what people who read the magazines do. Because really you wont go for the "Ultimate" look when you have a good job, good friends, a loving hubbie.

Only the ones totally insecure of themselves will try to reach that look, become a barbie. And it wasn't going good with those people anyway.

It IS a problem though that they now use computers on commercial to make the perfect models. That's indeed sickening. But as long as the public doesn't react(which most of the time, it doesn't) there's no prob.

Look out of your window(if you live in a town) and see if you can spot a real barbie/ wannave barbie.

People go on as they were going whatever commefcials say. The only thing it influences is the fact that people might just, maybe buy the product sooner.
