  1. Plain and simple no. Manchester United have enough money to buy any player that is for sale or willing to move to them. Robinho will be gone in a year. And if Man U were jealous of City's money they could always comfort themselves with the much longer list of titles, cups and champions leagues. As an Arsenal fan i find that great players are better than a great budget.

  2. I doubt it, big deal you got Robinho but as proved when Tevez and Mascherano went to West Ham the rest of the team will not raise their game to match a superstar rather the superstar will drop to the same level of the players that train and play with every day, Robinho will be begging to leave city by next summer if not january.

  3. It's just a load of camel sh..........

  4. United still compete with the likes of Chelsea even with Abramovic, City will not be big as Chelsea or United sometime soon you better understand they only signed Robinho for 30 million, same story as Spurs who spent more than 50 million this summer, they won't make it to the top 4.

  5. hope so, shame you didn't get Berbatov  as well but you got the brazilian as well

  6. You can keep the oil money. There's one thing money can't buy and that's history.Man United have it and Man City don't.

  7. lmao @ scarlet pimpernel giggs shooting himself in the foot.  not sure who the ex manu academy players are who've appeared for liverpools first team lately but anyway... he says manu havent bought success, then he says ex manu academy players are elsewhere.  why are they elsewhere?  cos they cant get a game at manu.  why?  cos theyve bought success lol

and anyone who thinks george best was better than maradona has lost their grip on reality

  8. Yeah Rio, Rooney, Tevez, Scholes, Evra, Berbs, Ronaldo etc.. are p**s poor compared to the class City will get with there money.

  9. I'd laugh my bollox off if over the next few years this injection of cash made City better than United.  After all United wouldn't be where they are if it wasn't for cash.

I wonder how many plastic United fans would become plastic City fans if this happened, about 75,000 maybe? lol.

George S ^^^  WTF are you on about, United bought their success just like Chelsea did, difference is Chelsea's was instant.  Fergie spent a fortune and at first their was no return for the money he'd spent.  Because of this thousands of United fans camped outside Old Trafford baying for Fergie's blood.  Then a year or two later they won their first league title for 26 years and the rest is history.  Money has spoiled the game and it was Fergie and United that started it all, well in this country anyway.

Giggs Is 007 - Lies, I don't think so.  If you are trying to tell me that United didn't buy their success then it is you who are telling lies.  Either that or you are just another plastic manc who thinks that football didn't exist pre 1993.

Also what has Maradona got to do with it?

  10. As a Manchester United fan myself I must say that YES I am jealous. While Chelski and City are taken over by money bags we get debt riddled Americans. Considering how hard United have worked to push themselves to the pinnacle of modern World Football then seeing clubs just get billions and buy there way there does irk me a little.

Fact is we battle to keep our best players every year (Ronaldo) and have to sell to keep wahes low enough to buy (Saha, Silvestre for Berbatovs wages), and the massive amounts of money we spend is money United earn. Now our city rivals have cash and cash and more cash and can almost buy anyone they want and offer huge wages.

So am I jealous? Yes. But I'll always remember that whatever happened, United worked their way up here and clubs like Chelski and City can only buy there way there.

Just one opinion from one United supporter

  11. No, not really, Man U are still the most popular team on the planet and i always like a bit of competition.  As stated in a post on a different question Man City are still a long way from a cup winning team but come January when they have a bit more time to splash the cash it could be very different.  I say good luck to them cause we are still going to win the premiership this season.  On a side note I personally dont think we needed Berbatov, what we needed was another decent defender like Sergio Ramos.

  12. now a little bit in a year they will be green with envy....................

  13. I don't support either teams but it looks that way.......... I think people should wait and actually see city play then either relax or get jelous. City might be a terrible club for him and he could play rubbish but it could go the other way and be his haven and he will be almight.......we'll all just have to wait and see! :-)

  14. Couldn't care less.We can defeat Chelsea's Russian sugar daddy,we can beat Man City's Arabian prince. What's more a team without any ambition suddenly wants to dominate the world. What a joke,I'd love to see the look on ADUG's faces if Robinho flops in the Premier League.

  15. I wish you guys had got Berbatov as well - imagine how red fergies nose would have got

  16. I bet they are.

They are the biggest cheque book team that has ever been. 4 of the 14 biggest transfers ever globally were by Man Utd.

Even Real Madrid only had 2 of the top 14 and Chelsea only have one.

They will cry 'unfair', but they enjoyed their time as the richest club didn't they.

  17. no... as demonstrated by berba it didnt come down to money if it had he would av gone to city it came down to wanting to play for the best club in the world ,

  18. Its all a dream mate and you'll soon wake up and find that man city is still a c**p club with no hope.

  19. NO - you can't buy history and they're still selling all of their decent players, e.g. Corluka to tottenham.

Chances are they will win very little.

  20. My god - a actually agree with RERE di santo, all the Man City glory hunters will crawling out the woodwork now with their new found wealth

  21. I think that there are two types of utd. fans there are the ones who you can talk football with, who have decent opinions and don`t mind giving the opposition credit when they play well, and then there are the others who are so biased that they can`t see anything but red. I know what the utd fan means about them earning money over the years but their wealth has still given them an unfair advantage in terms of buying power. IF city ever do win anything it will be ironic to hear utd and chelsea fans saying that we bought success.

P.S. I was jealous when chelsea came into their money, so i can understand other fans thinking that it is unfair.

  22. No we're not. Not even close about being jealous. All the money they can get won't make them a great team. You'll see that you can't in anyway break into the Top 4.

Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. Those are the Top 4 and always will be.

  23. I though yesterday was hilarious. You may well have ensured we paid over the odds for Berbatov, but gazumping Chelsea to Robinho made it worthwhile!

The best of luck to Citeh, and if that means replacing Liverpool in the "big 4" then so be it.

In a few years (or sooner), we may well be in direct competition for honours you will have an army of overseas gloryhunting fans like we do and the accusations of buying the league chucked at you as we have had. So maybe you will have less jibes to throw at us about our "fickle fanbase" and far flung supporters (as I write SSN shows a woman saying she's collecting a season ticket for her son who wasn't going to get one before and a snaking queue of fans doing the same down at the Council House) as you'll have many of the same too.

In future maybe our fighting will be done on the pitch - bring it on. Two Manchester teams battling it out is going to be great for all Mancs.

Edit @ Small Pebble - United may well have spent a lot of money, but it was money earned through the success on the pitch, not the other way around. We've still spent less during the Premiership than LFC have - where are the trophies you've bought?

  24. ahh so the gloryhunters have finally crawled out

  25. there is some amount of bs in your posting ???

small pebble, tell me again about the famous youth team of the early 90's, talk me through the greatest footballer ever to have lived, present day how many academy players do any of the premiership teams have, we have supplemented our ranks with QUALITY buys, not bought an entire squad overnight, and if you care to look at every club in the premiership including your beloved liverpool there is a MANCHESTER UNITED academy player in every squad, or ex united player managing or playing, just because you believe your own scouse propaganda doesn't give you the right to pollute this site with your lies.

  26. man utd could only afford one new player

looks like man city will be moving to top 4

    but who will move down?

    arsenal sadly

im an arsenal and chelsea fan

so what they bought robinho im glad chelsea didnt buy him

then drogba would be on benches

    good job man city!!!!

man city are taking over man utd

    have a star

  27. I am very sure they are

If only we got berbatov imagine there faces!
