many atheists on here claim that they hold a logical position by saying there is no God...or they seem to assert rationale and reasoning are arbitrators of truth...should we blame public school for their confusion...

  1. No, but maybe for yours.

  2. We should blame ignorance.

  3. If you ask me --- It's irrationale, illogical and unfounded that people even believe in a God. How can you believe in something that there is no concrete proof of? If Jesus lived today, for example, he'd get thrown in the mental institution for claiming that he was the son of God. Remember, people, for the most part, were uneducated and gullible back in Jesus' day. Many of their beliefs have been debunked, by guess what? Reasoning.

  4. how is it not logical?

  5. Pointing out examples of their fallacious logic would be helpful.  It may be you that is mistaken about what logic is.

  6. your stupid

she wont change her mind so i'll just say what i feel like she likes to bash atheists

  7. No, but many fundies are.

  8. *palm forehead*

second one of the night goes to you, doll.  kudos.

  9. Absolutely.  Critical thinking is only superficially introduced in public schools and the ability to develop and sustain an argument is almost nonexistent.

  10. public school????what...atheist dont believe in god bc of one reason...lack of evidence...maybe you are the confused one

  11. I do not believe that saying God does not exist is logical. The only logical ones are the agnostics. I still believe there is no God.

  12. You seem more confused about what the terms mean than most atheists I've seen on yahoo answers.  Let me clarify for you, from the dictionary...

Rationale - An explanation of controlling principles of opinion, belief, practice, or phenomena.

Reasoning -  The use of reason; especially : the drawing of inferences or conclusions through the use of reason.

Reason -  The power of comprehending, inferring, or thinking especially in orderly rational ways.

Rational - Having reason or understanding.

Logic -  A science that deals with the principles and criteria of validity of inference and demonstration : the science of the formal principles of reasoning.

Logical - Of, relating to, involving, or being in accordance with logic.

Now, based on a correct understanding of the terms please explain how atheists are confused about the differences between the terms and since you are the claimant please prove the existence of god in a consistent logical manner backed by accepted scientific theories and laws.

I won't ask you to disprove other gods without disproving your own just to give you a bit of a bit of leeway.

  13. Some may be.

    I'm not.

There has never been any evidence forthcoming to support the existence of any of the thousands of gods that humans have invented,

Which one do you believe in? Can you be sure that you're right?

    I think not.

  14. No, atheists are not confused.

Logic - is the systematic removal of any statement that is contradictory to accepted axioms, observations or definitions.

Rationale - is a set of justifications for belief or action.

Reason - is the process of arriving at a conclusion through logical means.

Atheists are satisfied that the God of the bible does not exist because his description given in the Bible is:-

    1.  Internally flawed,

    2.  Illogical

    3.  Inconsistent with the observed universe.

That does not mean that athiests know everything about the universe, rather, that the definition put forward by theists does not survive a logical examination. Thus being the reasoned way in which we arrive at the conclusion and the rationale for our actions and beliefs.

So, as you can see, we are well ahead of the game in this regard.

  15. Inserting big words into a sentence does not guarantee you'll make any kind of sense.

There's no argument - just bashing. Reported.
