The thing i worry the most about is failing boot camp i can do the PFT but still the idea of failing boot camp is embarrassing. for people that have completed boot camp have you seen many people kicked out because they couldn't complete a task or do the drill sergeants get to them and make people quit? the reason i ask this question is because I'm not scared of quitting but of getting kicked out

  1. Let's get one thing right,it is pure h**l for the first few weeks . But your body and mind will soon give in to what you WANTED, so try and get your body and mind ready for the best and worst fun a person can deal with, try watching the movie Full Metal Jacket to get an idea of what you will be a part of as far as boot camp and never call a Marine Instructor a drill seargent or your BUTT will have 2 strikes from the get go,first thing out of your mouth is ,SIR:

  2. Boot camp = drill instructors and not drill sgt's..

I never saw anyone get kicked out for refusing to train..Why would someone enlist knowing full well hes gonna be forced to do things and then quit?

    People fail because of ..

    injury

    popped on drug test

    unable to adapt

and every now and then they fail because they can not pass one part of boot camp such as the rifle qual, but they give you many chances..They want you to pass..they do everything to get you to pass..If you dont pass then there is something really wrong with you..

  3. Few get kicked out and they will not allow you to fail.  You will get set back in training until you can pass everything.  Best bet is dump the quitter attitude and go with an open mind.

  4. Nobody gets kicked out unless they deliberately did something to get kicked out.  Threatening suicide, refusing to train, etc.  You basically can't get kicked out, you have to quit.

And being able to pass the PFT should be the least of your worries.  Here's some things that should really get you prepard for boot camp:

-Start hiking 10 miles a week with 80 lbs. on your back.

-Stand at attention for hours at a time.

-Practice eating a full meal in 30 seconds or less.

-Get used to slapping yourself in the face.

    -Become an efficient duck-walker.

-Sit down and stand up really fast without stopping, for as long as you can.

-Carry heavy objects with only your pinkies.

-Learn how to properly roll sleeves and practice.  Get your recruiter to help you.

-Learn your 11 general orders and how to report your post, or firewatch is going to be the longest hour of your day.

I'm not joking.  If you can get good at those things, you will go much farther than you ever would with a decent PFT score.

Anyway, Drill Instructors will always threaten to kick you out, drop you to a starting platoon, etc.  They are always bluffing.  Nobody gets dropped unless it's medical or they want to leave.

Also, by the time you graduate, you will have more respect for your Drill Instructors than God himself.

  5. I just found out, you cant get kicekd out for refusing to train...Apprently my son wanted to quit. The commander gave him a direct order "Go back and train" My son said no... he is now in restricted mode and will contact me in 12 day to tell me when he will be home. So... yes they will let you go if you refuse. I have never been so ashamed and dissapointed.

  6. Most people quit at basic military training. Most people who get kicked out do so with fighting, injury, or doing something illegal. I wonder how it would go if you refused to do a exercise would they really kick you out? Refusing to train and refusing to do a excercise are two different things.
