Are many republicans disconnected from reality?

Why or why not?

Also, aren't those who are so witlessly championing Sarah Palin as the second coming doing the same thing they accused Barack Obama's supporters of doing (i.e. immediate canonization following a speech)?

  1. The difference is that we can look at what Palin has done and see that she listens to the people who she works for. That's obvious because of her extremely high approval rating as Governor.  Combine that with how she IS middle class, so she can relate to the average middle class family and what they go through.

Then we look at Obama who sounds just like every politician before him and where does he come from?  A short period of experience in a Congress with historically low approval rating.  That doesn't give me any confidence that he listens to the people he works for.

Obama likes to talk about change, but Palin IS change.

  2. Obama was selected by George Soro's in 04.... he was already instaled... Oprah ... (4) CNN specials before he anounced....

so no.... Guess the left with Code Pink and the anarchist are connected

  3. Actually, the reason why is, that the one big reason for holding a political convention is to fire up the supporters because you want them to go home and work the phones, desks, and pound the pavement for your party.

Truth does not come into play in this case because you would then need to take into account reality and fairness.  Omissions are important, too.  They are counting on reaching people's emotions, "Us against them" by hiding behind the flag.

He said they are "fighting."  But they are actually fighting for votes in order for the Republican party to stay in power.

  4. NO,

they are just happy with McCain´s choice.

    NO,

to your third question;   issues are entirely different.

  5. from what I saw at their convention, they don't seem to care about anyone but themselves. But that is generalizing.

  6. Actually most Republicans upon hearing that Palin was the pick said; 'Huh?'.  What you are seeing now is a national back lash against irrational attacks from the Democratic party and their leftist minions that were launched without any information whatsoever. Obama and Biden have half heartedly tried to back away and have failed.

    You create your own demons.

  7. With respect to your second comment about jumping on the Palin bandwagon, I feel you are right on. I think that many of them are ignoring their common sense which is telling them that Palin is unqualified because they are just deadset on McCain winning.  I'm really shocked how easily they have accepted her which leads me to believe they really only back the party, not the candidate or the particular issues at hand. If McCain had picked Bo Derek (sp?), they would have also banded behind her, in my opinion.

To answer your initial question, I feel that many republicans, particularly the ones in the higher income brackets are just removed from the realities that affect the majority of citizens in this country. And for the middle class/working class republicans, I feel they impose too many judgments on people and their individual rights and worry too much about Stan and Dan getting hitched rather than the price of gas or the state of the economy which is depressing to say the least.

  8. no, they just believe in something as much as others believe in something else.

its funny how if people don't agree, one of them must be "disconnected from reality"

  9. Delusional is their middle name.

If I say something, that makes it true!

  10. The whole party is anti-reality.

Their motives are all based on self above others (they are anti-Golden Rule).

The Golden Rule became the Golden Rule because it is the basis of community. Humans are social creatures by nature.

    Therefore their motives are anti-nature.

Ergo...the Republican Party is naturally anti-reality.

  11. Not true.

Why are so many Democrats liars?

  12. Yes, because many of them believe that violence, war, will solve everything.

  13. These comments just show how hypocritical you are.  You think you're far superior to the Republicans just cause your Democratic.  Maybe you're disconnected from reality.

Here's one Republican view that you'd agree with if you were rich.  The rich should just be taxed just as much as other people.  They had the same opportunities as everyone else, why should they be taxed more.  If you were rich, you'd be angry people were taking your hard earned money to help pay for the poor, sometimes lazy people.

Open your eyes, learn both sides of the stories.  My views range from hardcore Republican views to some hardcore Democratic views.  You're just one sided and won't open your mind to the other possibilites.

  14. I see life as reality without any sugar coating.  The democrats are looking at the campaign like it belongs in fantasyland and seem to believe that all the problems being faced by Americans can be solved with the snap of a finger.

McCain and Palin are looking at the country's problems through our eyes and believe that although it's difficult to solve all our problems, they have the knowledge and resources to perform their jobs as public servants and help the US thrive and remain as a superpower.

  15. I think both of these statements show a disconnection from reality.

    "I am a republican."

    "I am a democrat."

Both groups are so one-sided, they can't even imagine considering the opposing view.

  16. No- but every single far lefty is disconnected from their brain.

  17. They are disconnected from my reality.  I guess they are in touch with their own reality.

  18. Republicans and democrats are very much connected to their reality which was formed by their up bringing and faith or lack their of.

The cheers for Palin are very similar to Obama in that all she has done nationally is give a speech.  They are rightly excited because she has not shown the history of betraying true conservative principles for popularity like McCain.

    Debates will decide it all.

  19. Hurts doesn't it.  I find it so amusing that the second coming is used in both cases, but one is an accusation and the other is considered fact.  I wonder if a liberal has ever seen a mirror.  So no I live in reality, the reality is, that the popularity of Obama has shifted to Palin, in fact recent polls show her more popular then the other three candidates, so now the democrats are in a panic.

  20. We're doing it as a tactic to show the O-bots how EASY it is to do.

Goldenboy is nothing but a media phantom.

  21. No. In fact, I'd suggest that liberals today are the ones disconnected. In what reality is an adult not expected to be self sufficient and self reliant? In what reality does an adult look to the government as they would to a parent? In what reality does government create jobs?

And no. We've got a LONG way to go before Gov. Palin is beatified to the extent that Barack has been.

But apparently you can't see that through your koolade haze.

  22. Probably no more or no less in touch with reality as some lazy Democrats who think the government owes them a living and should pay for everything they need and hid this selfish entitlement under the guise of helping other people
