Question:

Are marigold swordtails aggressive and eat other small fish?

my marigold swordtailseems very shy but when i left my house and came back, one of my guppys was missing. he might have jumped out of the tank but my marigold swordtail looks mean, sometimes acts mean, and other fish ( cardinal tettras and guppies) dont like him and neither does my platy so please help im new with this fish owning stuff

  1. how big is your tank and how many fish do you have total in your tank? for swordtails they should have at least          20 gallons because they can be agressive if there isnt enough "room" for them ( they appreciate open spaces, try adjusting your aquarium decor around to create an open area for them).  you may need to separate him from your other fish  if he continues to be agressive towards your other fish. they are normally peaceful but if there are too many fish in a space they can be a little mean.

  2. Im not shure sword tales would eat other fish but in your case if the others are afraid then it might have did you check all around the tank?????
