Are math really needed to become a massage therapist?

i would like to do massage therapy but i have alot of things i wanna do and become.

  1. Math may be part of an associate's degree curriculum but most likely not advanced math.  It's more of the sciences -- biology, anatomy and physiology ('human anatomy' doesn't always transfer to another school) and technical courses.  Just a cautionary that I've seen some posts here where the person has gone for MT and are not happy with the lack of clientele and how one is treated at a spa, for example.  MT is a very physically demanding job as some clients would like a massage for up to an hour at a time.  If looking at training, please consider the more affordable programs such as the county vo-tech school or community college, perhaps non credit course as long as it's accredited within the industry.

  2. Not for that no but it may be necessary for your other ambitions which you didn't list. If you plan to run your own massage therapy outlet then you will need business and economics classes.
