Are meat eating birds to blame for the endangerment of turtles?

One person said in Italy said turtles used to be very abundant until meat eating birds came.

  1. the biggest problem with all the critters that are endangered is man...tearing up habitats, farming large areas, eating turtles, pet stores that remove them from their habitats and then selling them in petstores...

    sure there are birds eating turtles, but that has been true since time began...so that is not the problem

    also there are more turtles than you think in the wild...


  2. Raptors (meat eating birds) are not the only natural predators for turtles.    So no, raptors are not solely to blame for the decline in the turtle numbers.

    Meat-eating HUMANS are to blame, especially in Asia.

    Also cars, pollution, habitat loss, etc.

    All caused by humans.
